Are you ready for the PC Show 2012?

The PC Show 2012 is about 10 days away. Have you got your shopping list ready? Are you going to subscribe to Singtel home broadband and get a free MacBook Air?

For me, I am thinking to get a 7" Android tablet, whatever the brand as long as it's cheap. Preferably with a dual-core processor, 8GB with external memory slot and high quality display for watching video and viewing photos. I will also want to use it to surf the Net and read ebooks while listening to my favorite music. So it has to be lightweight and the battery got to be able to last for at least 5 hours. No need for 3G or 4G, just WiFi will do. Price must be cheap - about S$200.

So, will I be able to get my ideal Android tablet at the PC Show?

If this is the first time you are going to visit the PC Show, between 7 and 10 June 2012 at the Suntec Singapore, go check out these PC Show Survival Tips - http://www.pcshow2012.com/pc-show-tips/

Blogging for Money

Blogging by Woman - SingaporeIt was published on today's Digital Life - "Blog and Make $$$". It's about posting your blog with blog-hosting sites such as SoulCast.com, BlogFeast.net, BlogCharm.com and etc. And Soulcast.com has become one of the fastest growing website. According to the article, people actually made money with these blog-hosting sites.

To me, it's more like a "scam" to attract people to post content and these blog-hosting operators simply moentize the traffic with Google Adsense, banner advertisement and other PPC advertising.

Some bloggers made some money with the above sites. However, I suspect most bloggers could not even make a few cents a day. I am sure there will be some Singapore bloggers who will jump into the bandwagon and try to make some free money.

However, my question is - why not just start a blog with Blogger.com and use Adsense to make some pocket money. I suspect that many bloggers are not aware of Google's Adsense program.

Why not apply your own Google Adsense account?

Make money with Singapore blogFrankly, it's far easy to apply for an Adsense account with a Blogger's blog than with a conventional content website. All you need to do is go to the Template tab in your Blogger.com account then just click at "New easy signup".

One of the most obvious reasons being, you can write anything and everything in your blog. Whereas on a content website, you'll have to stay focus on theme or topic.

STOMP Singapore Bikini Babes

What a way to get traffic to your website! Put sweet young things clad in skimpy bikini all over the national newspaper - The Straits Times and you would attract loads of traffic to STOMP.COM.SG.

Like it or not SEX SELLS. Any Singapore has it fair share of sexy women and girl. So much so that Singapore Sex is a hot keyword. And I suspect that our very famous blogger became famous because she was so liberal in mentioning sex, the male organ and all the expletives she put on her very famous blog that get over 10,000 visitors a day - after she put in all the sex related writing.

Fashion or SluttyYou call this fashion? Others said
she looked slutty!
Garvermon no
say wearswimsuit to dinner me!

Then you have sexy pretty gals in the panel of famous bloggers in STOMP Star Blog. And, because "we are still very conservative" the topics they discussed were social issues like should man stays at home and woman goes out to work! Interesting isn't it? So house-husband can go online at home and ogle at the sexy bikini babes online.

Wake up to Singapore Blog

Woke up this morning and thought it would be a great idea to start a blog in Singapore. So what better name than Singapore Blog? Maybe Singapore Blogger!

I should have started blogging earlier. I heard about it from Danny Lee in 2003. We even booked the domain sgblog.com and thought we could start hosting for Singapore bloggers. That was before Blogger.com because hugely successful. We did not do much with that domain - we got Kenny to install a simple blogging script and started a couple of blogs. No one knows what to do with blogging at that time. Not many people in Singapore even knew what is a blog or weblog at that time. After a year of non-activity, we eventually gave up that domain name in 2004. Looking back, it was a pity to let go a brandable domain name. Who knows, we could be famous among the Singapore blogging population now if we would have kept the domain and persisted!
