NATAS Travel Fair is coming to Singapore Expo from Friday, 24 Feb to Sunday, 26 Feb 2012. It is expected to be crowded and you are advised to take public transport e.g. the MRT or the bus. All the major travel agencies are there: Apple Vacations, ASA Holidays, Chan Brothers Travel, CTC Travel, Dynasty Travel, Five Stars Tours, Follow Me Japan, Hong Thai Travel, New Shan Travel, Scenic Travel, Sino-America Tours, and etc.

This year's IT Shows 2012 will start from 8 to 11 March 2012 at the Suntec Singapore. The IT Show 2012 opening hours from 12 noon to 9pm.

Save Your Time, Don't Arrive Before 12 Noon

If you are going there on the first day, my advice is to be arrive after 12 noon. That's because many eager shoppers will start to queue at 11 pm or earlier to hope to grab early-bird offers and free door gifts. So if you are not interested in these promotions and freebies, be there after 12 noon!

Blogging for Money

It was published on today's Digital Life - "Blog and Make $$$". It's about posting your blog with blog-hosting sites such as SoulCast.com, BlogFeast.net, BlogCharm.com and etc. And Soulcast.com has become one of the fastest growing website. According to the article, people actually made money with these blog-hosting sites.

To me, it's more like a "scam" to attract people to post content and these blog-hosting operators simply moentize the traffic with Google Adsense, banner advertisement and other PPC advertising.

Some bloggers made some money with the above sites. However, I suspect most bloggers could not even make a few cents a day. I am sure there will be some Singapore bloggers who will jump into the bandwagon and try to make some free money.

However, my question is - why not just start a blog with Blogger.com and use Adsense to make some pocket money. I suspect that many bloggers are not aware of Google's Adsense program.

Why not apply your own Google Adsense account?

Frankly, it's far easy to apply for an Adsense account with a Blogger's blog than with a conventional content website. All you need to do is go to the Template tab in your Blogger.com account then just click at "New easy signup".

One of the most obvious reasons being, you can write anything and everything in your blog. Whereas on a content website, you'll have to stay focus on theme or topic.

Wake up to Singapore Blog

Woke up this morning and thought it would be a great idea to start a blog in Singapore. So what better name than Singapore Blog? Maybe Singapore Blogger!

I should have started blogging earlier. I heard about it from Danny Lee in 2003. We even booked the domain sgblog.com and thought we could start hosting for Singapore bloggers. That was before Blogger.com because hugely successful. We did not do much with that domain - we got Kenny to install a simple blogging script and started a couple of blogs. No one knows what to do with blogging at that time. Not many people in Singapore even knew what is a blog or weblog at that time. After a year of non-activity, we eventually gave up that domain name in 2004. Looking back, it was a pity to let go a brandable domain name. Who knows, we could be famous among the Singapore blogging population now if we would have kept the domain and persisted!
